May Luxe Box

My May Luxe Box FINALLY arrived! For those of you not familiar with Luxe Box, it’s a subscription service that sends you 3-5 deluxe samples of beauty products for $9.99 plus tax per month. Ever since hearing about Birchbox I’ve been really intrigued by this concept and so when I heard Canada had their own version I had to try it.

I’ll get my first and only complaint out of the way early. Loose Button (the company that owns Luxe Box - don’t ask me why they need two names) sent out the Luxe Boxes on May 9th so I was expecting to get my package in the mail within a few days. As early as May 10th I saw on Twitter and random blogs that people had already received their Luxe Box so I was expecting to get mine fairly soon after. Well I just got it in the mail today, a week after everyone else received theirs. This most likely isn’t Luxe Box’s fault, I personally blame the post office in Mississauga. Every time I order anything online I swear that post office holds on to my package for a good week before sending it my way. This shouldn’t be an issue for anyone who lives in the GTA as I’m assuming that your package won’t need to go through the horrid Mississauga post office (I could be wrong) but for anyone living outside of that area expect a very long wait for your Luxe Box to arrive.

Alrighty, on to the actual Luxe Box!

The packaging of the Luxe Box is really cute and I definitely appreciate the thought that went into it. When you open the Luxe Box there is a little card waiting for you with all of the product information as well as a little note from the Luxe Box team. The card with the product information is a little useless to be honest. It’s just a brief synopsis that you might hear in a commercial - no real information about the product other than the retail value of the full size product. I think it would be beneficial for Luxe Box to include information on how to use the product as well as where to buy the full size product because some brands, like Elizabeth Grant, are not well known and some people may not know where to get these products from.

Excuse the rip! I opened it for the first time on camera - I probably should have photographed it beforehand haha.

I haven’t tried any of these products yet so I can’t give you my opinion of them but here is what I received in my May Luxe Box.

1. Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant
2. China Glaze Mini Nail Polish (mine was actually upgraded to full size because I ordered a three month subscription!)
3. Consonant Body Organic Olive Oil Body Soap
4. Elizabeth Grant Biocollasis Complex Day Serum

I’m most excited about the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant and the full size China Glaze Nail Polish (I got the colour Emerald Fitzgerald if you were wondering). The other two products I’m a little less excited about just because I haven’t ever heard of them but I guess that’s the whole point of this subscription service.

I still have two more Luxe Boxes to come in June and July and based on what I received in this month’s box I’m excited to see what’s coming next! You can go to http://www.loosebutton.com/ to sign up for the waiting list and get your own Luxe Box.

  1. Cool! I have been considering getting the birchbox, but I am just not sure because they keep giving out duds. This looks awesome though. Maybe I'll just move to Canada...

  4. @Jessica I think even the duds are probably worth $10 though. It would be nice if they would show what they were sending and then you could decide to order or not.

@Laura No they chose it for me. I really like it though! It's definitely a colour I can see myself wearing a lot in the fall/winter. It's a Hershey's kiss - the cookie kind! It tasted just like a Hershey bar. I would have liked Lindor more haha.

  7. @Nataliee No I don't live there, that's why I'm complaining haha. I live in Western Canada and it always takes forever for my parcels to make it out of that post office. Once it gets out of Mississauga it's smooth sailing.
